It is a method that arises as an alternative to obtain a dental impression, which, unlike conventional impressions, achieves the registration of the soft and hard tissues of the oral cavity of the patient through a digital camera. How Do You Get A Digital Impression?

The first step in obtaining a digital impression is to isolate the field of interest from the saliva, we need to separate the lips and cheeks to get rid of moisture. We also must apply an anti-glare substance to limit the distortion of the images and we insert a digital camera that captures all the dental structures including the gum.

The procedure consists of capturing the images with a laser, using beams focused on the teeth and gums. It does not require any material that will cause discomfort to the patient, it is faster and more precise, generating a positive image with the possibility of expanding. There are two methods of obtaining a digital impression, one based on images, which captures a series of images, and another that makes a digital video.
