Nitrous Oxide (Conscious) Sedation

Nitrous Oxide is one of the longest standing safe means of sedation throughout history.

During the procedure, you will be awake and responsive, breathing both Oxygen and Nitrous Oxide. The levels can be titrated until we find the most comfortable spot for you.

The benefits of Nitrous Oxide:

•	Safe and effective with no side effects on respiratory/cardiovascular system in otherwise healthy individuals
•	Easily reversible and safe to drive afterwards
•	Minimizes gag reflex
•	Provides a relaxing sensation and additional pain relief

Oral (Conscious) Sedation

Oral sedation dentistry allows us to alleviate anxiety without the use of intravenous IV needles.

One hour prior to the appointment, you will take a small pill that will make you drowsy. By the time you are here, you will be feeling relaxed and calm. Please have someone that can drive you to and from your appointment.

Throughout the procedure, we will monitor your vital signs to ensure your health and safety.

IV (Conscious) Sedation

IV Conscious Sedation is very effective for managing severe dental anxiety. We never want anxiety and fear to prevent someone from the treatment that they need. IV Conscious Sedation may be the answer.

IV (intravenous) Conscious Sedation is a method that involves administering a medication directly into the blood stream using a needle by an anesthesiologist. This method is very effective as the anesthesiologist can control exactly how much is administered. All your vitals are measured and recorded throughout the entire procedure.

IV sedation is an effective method because it places you in a “twilight” state, somewhere between consciousness and sleep. While we can communicate with you during the procedure, the medications leave patients in a state of amnesia. As a result, patients do not remember their procedure.
